Start A New Room

This is only a very basic outline. For fuller details see the International Healing Rooms website.

The following procedure should also be worked through in communication with the National Directors, Steven and Helen Anderson.

  1. Attend a training course run by the National or Regional Directors. This could be in Glasgow or be by inviting them to your area.
  2. Apply to become a director(s): possibly two people, maybe husband and wife. In this process you need to fill in an application form (one each), supply a reference from a Church leader, and set up a local Board of Advisors. Possibly 3-4 local church leaders, intercessors, mature Christians who are supportive of the ministry. They only need meet with you once or twice a year.
  3. Host/run a local training course (unless covered under number 1 above).
  4. Make application forms available for potential volunteers (our office can supply you with these).
  5. Find a suitable venue: could be a church, a shop front or similar.
  6. Collect application forms, send for pastoral references. Once received conduct interviews.
  7. Set opening hours (don’t overstretch, start maybe 2 hours per week and build up) and date for starting (don’t rush forward too quickly).
  8. Hold prayer times to open “well of healing”. Establish intercessory prayer support.
  9. Publicise opening of rooms in churches and community.
  10. Open rooms.
